'Mister Misunderstood'

There is a country song
called Mr. Misunderstood

For months now
the song irritated me
because I know that Im misunderstood.
I always have been.  Its a lonely life.

But now I embrace the title.
I didnt like it
because I wanted to explain myself.
I wanted everyone to understand.
That was a fantasy - I understood
perceptions are like light - lensing
through the universe.

If Burt Reynolds was misunderstood,
what chance do I really have.

So I embrace it.
Call me Mr. Misunderstood.
