Post 2 today - 'Grades'
4/15/16 - Post 2
There has been some indication some people know that my grades were sporadic in college. Its true. Many times I would not go to class because I was bored, or was deep in thought and didnt make it. I would then fall behind and struggle to find motivation. I also had a straight A semester. That was the year I vowed to not date any women. I guess all male and all female schools understood what they were doing.
Einstein, and many other thinkers, also struggled with making it to class - even in his college years . Read all about it in his documentary - 'Einstein: His life and universe' by Walter Isaacson. Its beautifully written, and gives a clear idea about who Einstein was.
Albert Einstein could not take care of himself. He nearly died when he was on his own. Einstein had to marry his first cousin - who in turn nursed him back to health.
Why am I saying this ? Thinkers tend to struggle with daily life. I am a thinker and I have struggled mightily - much because of it.
I very much respect and admire Einstein's work. What he achieved with his thought experiments at the time was amazing. We did not have the technology or the data we have now, so his work was imagination and intuition. A lot of time spent in his head trying to make connections between things.
Einstein also struggled with being in the public eye at times. He was an introvert, and introverts tend to be caught up in their minds a lot. Paul Dirac, largely responsible for initial work in quantum mechanics, hardly said a word to anyone, unless he knew you fairly well.
