'Grains, raindrops' - logging out @ 4:51 PM CST 8/4/16 - last post today
Seen and unseen
(written today - as I walked into Fairbank - and now)
A bridge is a bridge, eroding.
a road, a road eroding.
The grains of pavement
washing off as it rains,
like the flours of shedded skin
wafting through all our homes.
Our eyes, our eyes
take in that band of wavelengths
which take a picture to our mind.
But down there - in the unseen
quantum scale of grains, of dust, of raindrops -
time is something alien -
as anything not observed - not recognized
by the calibration of the 5 senses we have, or more.
Light moves too fast - for our gigantic senses
to make sense of it's detail.
A particle turned into a wave
transmitted
and restored to a particle,
or a particle moving too fast to be observed,
a stretched-out particle doing (wavy-like) things,
or a wave/particle ?
'Time' (relative change)
is moving faster down there
within the grains, within the raindrops
in light moving across billions of light years of space.
